Kiev Euro Marathon was launched in 2016 to take place in Kyiv mid May every year to coincide with the European days in Ukraine.
Our task was to develop brand identity and communications style for this event that would symbolize Ukraine’s intention to join Europe.
The organizers wanted the Kyiv Euro Marathon to become an event of an international level and the identity had to reflect that.
We created an identity that used the national symbol of ribbons worn as a traditional headwear. The hospitable nature of Ukrainians was brought out in a heart formed from the ribbons. The brand identity is of a truly international character and the event became a highlight in Kyiv’s agenda with thousands of international runners joining the event already in the first year.
